Principal's Corner

Beth Wylie | Charter Director

Beth began her work at Fuente Nueva as a parent volunteer when her oldest son enrolled in the first kindergarten class. As the school developed, Beth designed and implemented an Extended Day program. In 2005 she became the “lead petitioner” for Fuente Nueva’s Charter Petition and later accepted the position of the Charter Director.

Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University, Beth gained her Pennsylvania teaching credential in 1992. After experiencing the constraints of the public education system, Beth left the classroom and worked for several years in a non-profit mental health services agency. After her three children were born, she dedicated herself to the role of stay-at-home mother.

When Beth joined the Fuente Nueva team in the role of Charter Director she gained valuable on the job experience as an administrator. Since her start at FNCS, Beth has gained her California Teaching Credential, authorization to teach English language learners, school business manager and finance training, and the all-important Certificate of Achievement from the Charter School Leadership Boot Camp through the Charter School Development Center.

Graduation 6/13 @ 10:15 am

The end of the year has come, and we have a lot for
which to be grateful. Please consider joining us for the
Graduation ceremony at 10:15 and stay for lunch on the
lawn afterwards. The ceremony is one of the sweetest
events we have all year and is very meaningful,
regardless of your child’s grade. We know it is in the
middle of the workday which is a challenge for most
parents. I am confident that if you can join us, you will be
charmed and perhaps even moved by the love that is
felt in our community that day.

Fiesta Ball 2019 hosted by Amigos de Fuente Nueva

Fuente Nueva is lucky to have Amigos de Fuente Nueva, a parent teacher organization that leads the efforts in fundraising for our school. The biggest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner and now you can buy your tickets right on line. If you have not been before, we encourage you to consider joining us for a night of Brazillian themed food and Latinx based music by La Macha. Amigos de Fuente Nueva has a history of putting on a really good party where you can also have a chance to purchase items that have been donated generously by the community. Click here to learn more about Amigos de Fuente Nueva or here to go straight to the Fiesta Ball page. Muchas Gracias.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Fuente Nueva is holding events 1/22-1/25 to empower our students to choose love and light where there is hate and darkness. We will explore concepts such as what it means to be an upstander versus a bystander, hurtful language and how to respond when you hear it, and the power of spreading love. Story teller Baba Jamal Koram https://www.griostoryman.com/, will be joining us to share his inspirational stories with our students. Activities will be held all week long, watch the classroom newsletters to learn more.
