 Hunter Safety Class. A hunter safety class will be held June 4th, 6th, 11th   & 13th 6 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Weott Cal Fire.  All registration for the class must be done online at    https://www.register-ed.com/events/view/123838   prior to the first class meeting. This class is limited to 30 students on a first come first served basis.  All class meetings must be attended in their ENTIRETY.   Students should bring note taking materials.  Those who wish to pre study the material before the class starts can preview the online course at http://www.hunter-ed.com/california/

We are extending an opportunity to clubs and classes to have a booth for fundraising. The second event is the annual 4th of July and again anyone interested in setting up a fundraiser is invited. Please contact Jessica Willis, 223-0549 with your ideas so we can find the right place to set up your booth.

 

Sweets n’ Spanish night               I am setting up a conversation and sweets night at HWY 254 Sweet Cravings. Spanish speakers will be here so students and anyone else interested in practicing Spanish can come hang out. Tuesday’s 5 p.m. Any questions, call or text Jessica 223-0549.

Cheer Meeting Rescheduled!  Cheer season is right around the corner. We are having a MANDATORY meeting on April 5th at 3:45 pm after school. If you are interested in cheering or you know someone we will be doing try-outs. You will learn a short dance and a sideline cheer. Returning cheerleaders try on uniforms before the 5th. Youth Conservation Corps         If you are interested in learning about land conservation, and working in nature, Redwood National Parks is hiring. Applications are now being accepted through April 23rd. This is an eight-week program during the summer and is Monday through Friday, 7:00-3:30. Prom is this Saturday March 24. Doors open at 8 pm. No one will be allowed entry after 9 pm. Prom ends at midnight. King and Queen will be announced around 11. No open beverage containers will be allowed into the gym.

 

Prom Tickets             Prom ticket sales through the 23rd, with an ASB card singles cost $30, a couple ticket will cost $50. Without an ASB card single tickets cost $35 and a couple’s ticket will be $60 . Visitors passes must be turned in to the principal as soon as possible!

 

Prom Dresses   Prom is just around the corner. If you are still hunting for a dress or are unsure if you can afford a brand new dress please contact Colleen. We have dresses available that have been worn only once (not at a SFHS prom).

Nick’s Interns    Applications due today! As a paid intern, you will take part in a range of restoration and land management projects such as native grass seed collection, invasive species removal, trail construction, campground maintenance, steelhead dive surveys, salmon habitat enhancement and much more! Apply now! Applications are due by March 23. You can turn them in at the office or mail or fax them to the contact on the form.

Nick’s Interns    As a paid intern, you will take part in a range of restoration and land management projects such as native grass seed collection, invasive species removal, trail construction, campground maintenance, steelhead dive surveys, salmon habitat enhancement and much more! Apply now! Applications are due by March 23. You can turn them in at the office or mail or fax them to the contact on the form.

 

RRHC   Redwoods Rural is on campus for the monthly clinic March 27th. All student and staff medical and reproductive health needs can be met on campus. To make an appointment please see Colleen or leave a note in her box. All appointments are confidential. Students have access to sports physicals, medical check-ups, and  family planning and screenings.

SENIORS YEARBOOK   1.If you want a picture of you and your sibling(s), you need to arrange a time with Ms. McClure for a photo, or send her one, by March 26.
2. Hall of Fame seniors: arrange a time with Ms. McClure to get your picture taken for the yearbook.

Prom Tickets             Prom ticket sales through the 23rd, with an ASB card singles cost $30, a couple ticket will cost $50. Without an ASB card single tickets cost $35 and a couple’s ticket will be $60 . Visitors passes must be turned in to the principal as soon as possible!
Prom Dresses Prom is just around the corner. If you are still hunting for a dress or are unsure if you can afford a brand new dress please contact Colleen. We have dresses available that have been worn only once (not at a SFHS prom).

Seal of Biliteracy              Attention all juniors and seniors. If you have not yet confirmed with Colleen that you will be attempting to earn your Seal of Biliteracy this year see her immediately. The Oral Language Fair will be held at HSU on March 24th, make sure to mark your calendars. If you would like more information on what the Seal of Biliteracy is please see Colleen or Margaret.

 

Free Tickets        Jane Doe in Wonderland is a theatrical production that educates and shares the experience for those in the sex trafficking industry. It is based on real life experiences in Humboldt County and throughout the world. The production is best suited for those 14 and older. The performance is April 8th in Scotia, and April 12th at Fortuna High School. For free tickets, for you and your family please contact the Family Resource Center at 923-1147.

Southern Humboldt Schools Foundation Corned Beef Dinner            THIS WEEKEND! Please join us at Redway School on Saturday March 17 from 4 to 7:30 for corned beef and cabbage. There will be performances and displays of student art as well as a dessert sale by class of 2021.
