South Fork High School is a small, rural, 9-12 secondary school dedicated to providing its students with the skills and opportunities to explore and experience the world both behind and beyond the Redwood Curtain. The campus, located in the midst of Northern California’s redwoods and along the world famous Avenue of the Giants, offers a comprehensive academic curriculum, a varied athletic program, and many extra curricula activities. Current enrollment at South Fork is 199 students.

Cupcake Wars, SFHS edition happened during the Art and Careers CTE course today. The students prepared three designs in the categories of autumn, floral, designer's choice. Stella Baumstone, daughter of Mir Holmes and Max Baumstone is the September Rotary Student of the Month in the subject of performing arts. Stella is a senior at South Fork High School and plans to attend UC Davis or Cal Poly, majoring in biomechanics. Stella is a talented singer, performer and student.

Stella was recently selected to represent the north coast in the Regional Coastal Honor Choir. To qualify she participated in a rigorous audition process singing an Italian Aria as well as sight sang. Stella was required to sing music she had never seen or practice before, by reading the music and then singing in front of a panel of judges. In the next few weeks she will learn six new songs and perform in San Mateo as part of the Regional Coastal Honor Choir. Congratulations Stella!

Steven Minikel, son of Hannah and Tracy Minikel of Zenia is the October Rotary Student of the Month in the subject of Physical Education. Steven is a sophomore at South Fork High School and is an exemplary student when it comes to hard work, focus, and respect. Steven plans to become a carpenter after completing high school.

Steven was selected by Ms. Jones as an example to all his classmates to show what it means to always work hard and to put your best foot forward.
