THROWBACK THURSDAY!!! The Wood Family has been a HUGE influence on the Southern Humboldt Unified School District dating all the way back to the late 1800's when Charles Wood helped establish a school house in the area. His Daughter, Leona not only taught at the one room school house, but she along with her brother Ernest started a long family tradition of serving on the School Board. The Wood Family has South Fork Alumni dating back to the 1930's! Members of this family have given back to the schools in many capacities from serving on the Board, Coaching, and running the Booster Club. Combined this family has raised millions of dollars for the students of Southern Humboldt. We think they are one in a MILLION and that is why the lobby of the newly renovated Hartley Gym at South Fork High School will be Dedicated as the Wood Family Lobby tomorrow at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Come help us celebrate this family's commendable DEVOTION and LOYALTY dating back over 100 years! ... See MoreSee Less

We are going Wayback Wednesday today to talk about one of South Fork High School's most beloved Teachers and Coach CLINT BAINBRIDGE! Clint worked at SFHS for 32 years. He had many Championship Basketball Trophies won during his time as Coach but more important to him than winning was a good attitude from his Cubs. If they gave it their all and were GOOD SPORTS, that was what mattered most. His dedication to the students of Southern Humboldt and his sterling example of INTEGRITY and MENTORSHIP will be celebrated at the Grand Opening of Hartley Gym on Friday at 1 pm at SFHS as we dedicate the court to this amazing man!. Clint and his wife, Jan will be there. Join us!!! ... See MoreSee Less
